The Pastor’s Wife

Dr. BrownMeet Dr. Hyacinth Naomi Brown

Hyacinth Naomi Brown is born again Christian who knows the Lord Jesus Christ as her savior and does not believe she can be successful in life without Him. She is the wife of Bishop Brian Anthony Brown, who now pastors the Christ Centered Church in Abington, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Brown embraces spiritual growth as a lifelong learning experience that is dependent on her study and application of God’s Word (2 Timothy 3:16-17), and her walk in the Spirit (Galatians 5:16-26). Although Dr. Brown grew up in a Christian home, she understood very early that her salvation could not be established through her parents. Consequently, through her own acknowledgement that she was a sinner, and that only by accepting Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and being totally reliant on Him, that she can be saved. Throughout her life she has served in various areas of ministry such as cleaning the church floors, singing on choirs, doing secretarial work and teaching Bible classes. Leadership of the Wednesday night Bible Study is her current assignment.

Her Christian philosophy is the embodiment of servant-leadership. This role as a servant leader has afforded her the opportunity to give unconditional love to those whom she serves. She states, “I would like everyone to recognize that to have a relationship with God, is to have a consistent prayer life, because it is very critical to one’s growth in Christ”. Also, “I have recognized that there are some things in life that I can change as I yield to His will, but there are others that I have to let God take control of. His word tells me to, “Be anxious for nothing, but in prayer and supplication, and make your request know to Him (Philippians 4:6)”. She expresses that it is easy to know what she wants, but to submit to finding out what God wants, and want what He wants, more than what she wants is truly an everyday commitment and an awesome experience.

Dr. Brown is the mother of four handsome sons, Omar, Andre, Casey and Stephen. She earned her doctorate in Professional studies in Education from Capella University, and continues to be an educator in her community. In her spare time she takes walks, spends time with her family and conscientiously studies so she can inspire others. Her students in both the secular and spiritual world admires her as someone who loves and lives the WORD. One of her favorite Bible quotes is, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5-6).
